Letter II

Dear DP,
Welcome to another edition of the Letter from the Pink Palace. This week, the 141st board continued to deliver impactful stories, great print content, and breaking news.
Here are a few updates and highlights from this week…
The DP began its recruitment efforts for the semester.
We opened up applications this past Monday, and held two information sessions along with an open house event at our very lovely home, 4015 Walnut. As of Saturday night, we had 75 total applications (with A WEEK to go until the application deadline). I’m just so proud of the Strategy & Promotions team (namely Sophie-Anne Brouwers, Jack Galbraith, and Tiffany Chen) for spearheading these efforts. The enthusiasm we have from Penn students speaks volumes about the important work we’re doing on campus.
To the right are some graphics and promotional content created during this recruitment cycle (with an unnamed member of the S&P team creating a few of these in front of me during Earth Science class).
Staffers of the week
This week, the staffers of the week are Design Editor Makayla Wu and Deputy Business Strategy Manager Tiffany Chen! Makayla was such a champ working on designs for this week’s DP print issue and helping out with 34th Street’s production. Tiffany put together such solid social media content for our recruitment efforts— they are truly what helped yielded such high application numbers so far!

34th Street Magazine Update
This week, 34th Street Magazine hosted its first two production nights of the year. They’re currently working on their February issue, which is themed around love. Be on the lookout for their promos and be sure to pick up an issue when it releases :)
